Pepperwood Mansion

This project features a 15.000 square feet modern bespoke residence designed for a mild graded lot in Sandy, at the base of the Wasatch Mountains, in the Salt Lake City Valley.

The home is made of a serie of detached bodies connected by a common inner distribution. The building fronts are partitioned into an organized group of volumes alternated by monumental stone walls. The Walls partition both the interior spaces and the outdoor surrounding. The garden is  therefore arrange on a scale of different paved platforms and green spots around the house.

In this home the floor plan horizontality is balanced by the vertical elements of the walls that are well exposed and over-hanged from the elevations.

The care for the finishing material – stone clad and warm timber siding – together with a variation in the interior tones smooth the monumentality of the residence.

Large glazed surfaces reveal double height grand rooms and other interior spaces with plenty of natural lighting and open views
